Second visit of CEPEJ experts to the pilot courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina

    09.11.2023.

Following the first coaching session at the Sokolac first instance Court this summer, two other pilot courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Brčko District Court (first instance) and the Cazin Municipal Court (first instance) benefited, from 8 to 9 November 2023, of a first coaching session.

The CEPEJ experts will exchange with presidents, judges and staff of these courts on main challenges faced in the fields of efficiency and quality of justice, including court performance, data collection and judicial statistics, judicial time management, workload of judges, quality of justice services for the users. These visits will also serve as an opportunity to present the CEPEJ methodology on coaching and raise awareness on available CEPEJ tools and good practices.

These visits would serve as a basis for recommendations in the areas of efficiency and quality of justice issues, to be proposed to the pilot courts for implementation in early 2024.

This activity was organised by CEPEJ action “HFIII: HF 4 - Strengthening the Efficiency and Quality of Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiHSEJ)”, which is part of the joint programme entitled "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye III", co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
